ARTIST NOTES: The bright lights of a country town on special occasions are fascinating. I love the play of the lights against the foliage, signage and buildings.
This work evokes memories of road trips around our country long before motorways and bypasses. Driving through small and large country towns may have slowed our progress but it was always interesting to see the shopping strips, parks & gardens and sometimes historic public buildings. When looking for something to eat we always stopped at the busiest establishment – the locals always knew best.
